The team at FleetFinders are proud to sponsor the National Horseracing College (NHC) Foundation course, which sees an intake of 13 new students undergo the 12-week course.
Who are NHC?
National Horseracing College is a not-for-profit, registered charity that provides a responsive center of training excellence. The College identifies, encourages and nurtures talent, particularly among young people to deliver trained staff into the horseracing industry.
NHC delivers a multitude of courses, one of which is the Residential Foundation Course. The purpose of this course is to develop practical knowledge, skills and experience to ensure its students are competent to progress to their chosen field within horseracing. The students, predominantly 16-18 years of age, will complete the course coming away with numerous qualifications including Level 1 Diploma in Racehorse Care, Functional Skills Maths and English, Emergency First Aid, as well as Life Skills for independent living and much more.
In order for NHC to run and support this younger generation develop in this niche career path it works hard to generate sufficient financial support. This happens through gaining government and racing industry contracts, but accessing independent business funding support is also critical. Given our already established relationship as a supplier of a vehicle to the College, we were delighted to take the opportunity to support and sponsor a group through the course which commenced Monday 14th October and will see students graduate on 3rd January 2025.
Why we are sponsoring NHC?
You may ask why we at FleetFinders are investing our interest in National Horseracing College, well here’s why. Firstly, there is a natural link with our business and industry, we pride ourselves on being vehicle solution providers and in the equestrian field there are many vehicle requirements, from more specialist vehicles such as horse boxes through to gallop vehicles, heavy duty pickups or vans needed for towing.
Secondly, we strongly believe in supporting charities where we can and feel a connection, in this instance we particularly loved NHC’s passion for supporting the younger generation and their approach to inclusivity. They make becoming a professional in the horseracing industry a possible path for everyone, no matter of your background or experience.

Some industries are very niche and very difficult to get into, but charities such as NHC make it so much more achievable to gain the required and valuable experience needed. We felt this partnership was a great fit for FleetFinders and will hopefully raise awareness of the great work both businesses do. We are excited to watch the progression of the students over the coming weeks.”
